My journey all began in Saskatchewan, with (multiple) stops in Alberta, British Columbia and even Greece! I mostly grew up in Edmonton – and that’s where my photographic adventures began. It all started when I took my dads 35mm camera and snapped photo’s of his backyard garden and of the landscapes on our family trips (wasting film as he would say). But something about it just captured me, and hasn’t ever let go.
When I was in my early 20’s, I decided to take my hobby of photography more seriously and enroll in NAIT’s Photographic Technology program. It was until my time at NAIT that I really began photographing people, as my focus was mostly in nature and travel photography. After graduating from NAIT, I realized I wanted to do more with my camera. I wanted to do something significant and fulfilling. I wanted to tell peoples stories through my photography and my words. This led me to Calgary, where I graduated from SAIT’s Journalism program majoring in photojournalism. Where I also worked as photo editor for the campus newspaper, The Weal.
